Welcome to the SURFdriver Quick Start. These pages will introduce you to the SURFdriver inteface, and show you how to get up and running as quickly as possible. The first screen you'll see when you start SURFdriver is the Command Palette, shown on the left. Let's start by viewing the included file, the Jaw Group file. Select the View Object button from the palette. You will be prompted for a file name. Choose Lungs.sdf. Choose the default screen size, or put in a smaller number if you have a slow computer. The file will be loaded, and you will be moved into the Viewing Environment. Once you are in the Viewing Environment, shown on the right, click in the large central window and drag the mouse, then let go. The objects in the window will rotate with your mouse, then will get redrawn when you let go. The numbers on the top will show you the current rotation in X,Y,Z degrees. The window named Toggle Objects shows you the name of all of the objects in the viewing window. Try clicking on one of the names; you'll notice that the object with that name disappears. Click again on the name, and the object reappears. This is called Toggling the object. |
